History

Stuart Hall Cycling grew out of Stuart’s passion for cycling in Europe and the enjoyment he’s had over the years in introducing other cyclists to the joys of training in Mallorca, participating in European sportives and riding the iconic French Alpine and Pyrenean climbs, the famous climbs of the Italian Dolomites and the less famous cols in Corsica.

IHe first cycled in Mallorca in 1972 and has been organising cycling trips to Mallorca since 1987, so our knowledge of the best routes is unparalleled. For us, cycling in Mallorca is all about the flow of the bunch along beautiful traffic-free lanes, soaking up the sunshine with good café stops led by very experienced guides – we guarantee we’ll take you along roads you didn’t know were there (and probably some you wish you didn’t!).

Our experience of European sportives and routes is equally deep – Stuart first rode the Marmotte in 1988, has been back most years since, and rarely missed the opportunity to watch the Tour and ride some of the climbs.

Ethos

Our aim is to provide memorable cycling holidays that are open to everyone. We strive to provide good quality cycling in good quality hotels at a price that represents good value for money. Our focus is on experiencing the pleasure of bunch riding – introducing you to the excitement of riding in a bunch if it’s not something you’ve experienced before, and developing your bunch etiquette to improve your cycling if you have.

On our trips, we don’t only want you to ride your bike, we want you to learn to ride it better. We structure our rides to maximise your cycling experience and enjoyment, and will help you understand how best to use your equipment.

We welcome all levels of cyclists – from those new to cycling to current pros.

Success

The popularity of our camps grows every year and our return rate is over 80%, which means that over the years, you’ll find a lot of familiar faces to ride with – and enjoy a drink in the bar with afterwards! A large amount of our business comes via word of mouth.

Success, however, isn’t just about the number of people and the return rate, but also about how we see riders developing as we get to know them on our trips. It’s extremely rewarding seeing the progress of some of those new to cycling who’ve been with us, and we particularly like encouraging young riders.

Luke Rowe (Sky), Andrew Roche (Motorpoint), James Lewis (NFTO), James McLaughlin (Madison Genesis), Dexter Gardias (ONE Pro Cycling), Dan Pearson (Champion Systems) and Sophie Wright (Bigla) are just some of the names you may recognise who’ve been on Stuart Hall Cycling camps over the years… Not to forget time-triallist Marcin Białobłocki (ONE Pro Cycling) and Rhys Lloyd (NFTO) both of whom have previously been ride leaders for us for many years.
