Fancy testing your legs?! With three hors-category and two first-category climbs, totalling over 5,500m of climbing, the Marmotte Pyrenees is arguably even harder than the better-known Marmotte Alps…
In its fourth year in 2019, the Marmotte Pyrenees presents an exciting opportunity to tackle some of the awe-inspiring Pyrenean climbs you’ve witnessed in the Vuelta and the Tour de France. And with over 5,500m of climbing along its 165km course, it is a true challenge!
The event starts with the Col du Tourmalet (2,110m) from Luz Saint Sauveur, followed by the beautiful Hourquette d’Ancizan (1,552m) and famous Col d’Aspin (1,476m) before revisiting the Col du Tourmalet, this time from Saint Marie de Campan. The route then finishes with the climb up the Hautacam (1,512m).
Prices are based on two sharing a room. Single rooms cost an additional £80 for the three nights, subject to availability.
We are pleased to offer our Marmotte Pyrenees packages in conjunction with Ian Turner of Plein Air Pyrenees. Ian, a very keen cyclist himself, has lived in the Pyrenees for 15 years and has an intimate knowledge of the Marmotte Pyrenees route, and of course of its cols.
We are taking bookings now – a £200 deposit per person is required to secure the booking.
For those requiring airport transfers, there will be a scheduled pick-up from Toulouse airport on the Friday prior to the event, and a return transfer on the Monday the day after.
The transfer time is approximately two hours, and it is essential that you book flights to coincide with our transfer times to avoid a long wait at the airport. We will shortly be recommending suitable flights to fit with our airport transfers.
We also have full-carbon hire bikes available for rental if you don’t wish to bring your own; please contact us for further details.
