La Ronde Picarde

7 – 9 September 2012, France
185km or 131km

Cost: £395 or £150

La Ronde-Picarde is probably my favourite sportive and is a fantastic event to finish the year. 185kms long with 1500 metres of climbing plus the famous route de sable, this is about as close as you can get to racing. The start is fast and frantic on the flat plane around Abbeville and you will most likely be in an oxygen debt by the time you reach the first climb at 10 kms. This event is about making the selection by way of the fastest group and then hanging on for grim death… at this stage of the season you have done the training, you’ve got plenty of miles and speed in your legs – so come along and see if you can make the first group on the road!

The emphasis of the weekend is on relaxing and enjoying everything the event has to offer: beautiful riding in lovely scenery, the fantastic race atmosphere, and of course great food and wine in the evening!

Included in £395 option:

  • Return transport from London by road and ferry/channel tunnel
  • Half-board accommodation Friday and Saturday nights
  • Event entry
  • Services of our experienced guide

For those who prefer to be more self-sufficient and make their own way there, we also offer a £150 option which includes self-catering accommodation for two nights plus entry to the event.
