We will be based in Alpe d’Huez in a family run hotel just 200m from the finish line of the Marmotte for both the 4-day Marmotte trip, and the 8-day Trophee de l’Oisans trip (the Vaujany, Prix des Rousses and Marmotte sportives).
Stuart Hall Cycling is an official tour operator for all Grand Trophee events, including the Marmotte.
La Marmotte 05-08 July 2012
4 days, 3 nights
Cost: £495
The Marmotte is one of the toughest sportives in Europe. Starting in Bourg d’Oisans and finishing in Alpe d’Huez, the 174km route takes in four of the great classic alpine climbs, a total elevation gain of 5,000 metres! First up is the col du Glandon (1918 m), then the col du Telegraphe (1570 m) followed very shortly afterwards by the Galibier (2642 m). Riders then descend the Lautaret before finishing the day with 21 hairpin bends on the ascent of the famous Alpe d’Huez (1880 m). A true challenge for any rider!
With its awe-inspiring alpine climbs and outstanding atmosphere and scenery, taking part in the Marmotte is a fantastic experience for any cycling enthusiast – this video will give you an idea!

Trophee de l’Oisans 30 June – 08 July 2012
9 days, 8 nights
Cost:£825
If you want to experience a week of climbing in one of the most famous cycling locations in the world, with the opportunity to ride 3 sportives in one week – over 11,000 meters of climbing in just 387 kms – then the Trophee de l’Oisans is the perfect choice! There are 10 mountain passes in the Vaujany alone, including the little known (and never-forgotten…) Col de Sarenne, a continuation of the infamous Alpe de’Huez.
The week starts with the Vaujany (173 kms) on the Sunday, the Prix des Rousses (40 kms) on the Wednesday and finishes off with the jewel of them all, the Marmotte (174 kms) on the final Saturday. Riders can choose which of the events to ride; I will be trying to arrange rides in the week to cover most of the climbs and route for La Marmotte.
Nine days on the top of the Alpe in the summer: this is a bike rider’s paradise!
